These mallets have wooden handle, bamboo shaft and light wooden heads, ideal for playing slab-keyed Balinese cungklik instruments as well as grantang / rindik / tingklik in the old-fashioned manner (without rubber heads on the mallets), which create a more percussive attack to the melody and interlocking patterns.
